Introduction to Software Tools for Nonlinear Optimization

Content
The course is intended for all those interested in nonlinear optimizaton. The attendence of the courses
Nichtlineare Optimierung: Grundlagen and/or
Nonlinear Optimization: Advanced or of similar courses is recommended but not required. The following topics will be covered in the course:
- Introduction to modelling languages, such as AMPL and JuMP, and to practical aspects of nonlinear optimization
- Using and comparing optimization solvers for nonlinear optimization
- Overview and installation of state-of-the-art computer code for nonlinear optimization, and their application to nonlinear optimization problems
The course is an extracurricular offer. While credit points are not awarded, we can issue a confirmation of participation certificate after successful completion of the course.
The course will be held in English.
The course is offered as a virtual course via Moodle.
